MIC to aid Tamil schools, temples

THE MIC is the only party that highlights the problems of the Indian community to the government, said Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk M. Saravanan.

Speaking at the Ledang MIC delegates meeting, he said the MIC would continue to extend aid to Tamil schools, temples and other organisations.

Tamil Nesan quoted him as saying that the setting up of Tafe College and MIED by MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu had benefited many Indian youngsters in gaining knowledge and enjoying a better lifestyle.

He said the standard of education in Tamil schools had improved tremendously and the seminars and motivation courses given to schoolchildren had helped them to achieve outstanding results in their examinations.

He urged branch leaders to work selflessly for the community and not to expect rewards.
